mike, bertelsman is investing in napster and plans to turn it into a fee service. the kid on cnn fn (or whatever) who started napster was grinning like "i can't believe i'm here" the whole time. the ceo of b* said that he was impressed with 0 - 38 million subscribers for napster. i think he will be equally impressed with the economics 101 lesson he is about to get when he starts charging and everyone runs to another free service. maybe 38 m - 0 won't take as long ;-) i can't believe how quickly these folks checked their hats at the door and picked up crayons.
