hope everyone has been making money out there but be careful...been a good 2 weeks for me shorted cien down 50 pts and then road it up 10 pts...sold and bought back in for another 15 pts....lets hope this rally lasts...here is a fact when the redskins win the game prior to the election at home the democrats win....looks like bush is our man... contraryinvestor.com

Hi Sam, In many ways I do much of what you do in the marketplace. I use options but only as the "extra" for my long positions, however. Interesting that you use the options as the larger part of your portfolio gains. Thanks for that review.

I use hindsight as my guide. Instead of attempting to predict the future (for me, 50/50 at best) I look at what's just happened and then adjust accordingly. I run my portfolio in a very low key manner with GTC limit orders bracketing the current prices. This allows me time for the more cerebral activities you mention. I've spent more time in the library in the last 15 years than I ever did in school!

On top of the GTC limit orders, since I already know how many shares I'll liberate at certain prices as they climb, I will many times sell small CALL contracts at those same prices going into the future. If they get called away, they're part of my business plan. If they don't, then it's pocket money for fun.
