George: Your numbers are a little low. The AFL-CIO covers 13 million workers in 68 unions. While the numbers have declined the past two decades, they have leveled off over the past year or two. As a matter of fact, I think union membership in the U.S. now is higher than it was 12 months ago. If unions are indeed moribund, as you say, then why are the Republicans so worried about unions? Could it have something to do with the fact that almost every union endorsed Al Gore for president?
