i have seen a study about a year ago that showed that most mergers do not produce the expected benefits. why the urge to merge continues in light of this is a mystery to some extent.

You don't mean to imply that departing management doesn't receive its expected golden parachute, do you? Or are you saying that golden parachutes have the aerodynamics of lead balloons? -g-

but the perception was that these always resulted in economies and were a boon to profitability -- maybe the truth is starting to sink in -- or maybe splitting companies (only seems to be happening in the tech world -- not the financial) -- is just the scam du jour since all the news about sickso's acquisitions and the associated financial handiwork
