* CISCO SYSTEMS INC's customers in Latin America show no signs of
throttling back on Internet equipment purchases and should keep
sales increases in the region ahead of Cisco's world average, a
senior Cisco executive said on Wednesday. Gordon Astles, Cisco's
vice president overseeing Latin America, Canada and the Caribbean,
said his region's sales were 5% of revenues but were growing more
quickly than a 50% rate Wall Street expects from Cisco. "The
growth rate in Latin America continues to be higher than that of
Europe or the United States," Astles said in an interview.
