Intel has no choice to release P4 with Rambus. That's the only chipset they have for it. I takes at least a year to develop a new chipset. They probably started designing DDR and SDRAM chipsets for P4 3-6 months ago. So look for one in 6-9 months. Meanwhile VIA will have one ready in less time.

The volumes in P4 won't be that significant for at least 1-2 quarters anyway.
