Over the past few weeks, TXN, INTC, UMC, all have come out and said demand looks strong for their products. Because there are so many uses for chips, there are bound to be pockets of weakness, but I am not seeing them. BTW, ALTR came out today and lowered expectations to 12-15% sequential growth and they are getting hammered. I do't know what the street expects because some cos. in the fiber optics market are not experiencing 12-15% quarterly growth. And yet the semis are priced for something far from perfection. Over the coming year, we will see who is wrong on this one: semiconductor execs, equipment execs, industry forcasters, or WS Analysts. I think you know my choice since the AnalCysts are currently the odd man out in their predictions, and yet most will not set foot into a fab this year. And yet their words carry so much weight. Go figure. BK
