The markets will go where they will go based on company performances and the sentiments of its participants.

Politicians are less and less relevant. [as it should be]

Hi Cheryl. I have read that whenever the new 'White House' occupant is from the opposition party, the stock markets are typically lower for a period (I don't know how long) because of the uncertainty of the change.

That would be 1952, 1960, 1968, 1976, 1980 and 1992 for recent years.

I have no idea whether there is any truth or accuracy to this or not ...

... but in my opinion, the U.S. stock markets will continue lower through at least the end of March because of the negative macroeconomic conditions.
