Merril Lynch says there is no China for Qualcomm and the Korean subsidy ban is still in place.

I agree with your point; however, if I had been going away for a week or more I would have looked into renting a G* phone (great for safety and security should any need arise). Since I travel only rarely I can not justify the ongoing cost for myself. I do know that if I were a salesman and traveled the northwest by car, I would lobby my company for a G* system or would get it myself.
