I prefer the Mediterranean climate of the Bay Area. We sometimes have to wear a sweat shirt with our shorts in the winter but that's OK :-)

Elmer, AMD finally submitted SPEC scores for the Athlon w/DDR (and no DDR), and they finally had the guts to include int scores! From the chart at Ace's Hardware CPU System SPECint2000 SPECfp2000 Base Peak Base Peak 1.2 GHz Athlon Gigabyte GA-7DX (PC2100 DDR) 443 496 359 420 1.2 GHz Athlon ASUS A7V (PC133 SDR) 409 458 303 350 1.5 GHz Pentium 4 Intel D850GB 524 536 549 558 1.4 GHz Pentium 4 Intel D850GB 502 512 529 538 1.0 GHz Pentium III Intel OR840 438 442 327 335 1.2 GHz Athlon Gigabyte GA-7ZM 304 342 833 MHz 21264B AlphaServer ES40 Model 6/833 518 544 590 658 900 MHz UltraSPARC III Sun Blade 1000 Model 1900 438 467 427 482 P4 is faster in SPEC int and smothers the Athlon in fp. Too bad this is not the common theme on today's software.
