I'm not advocating nominating the lady checker at the local supermarket to run for higher office. Not to disparage checkers- but she doesn't have the experience I would want in a candidate. However, there are female governors, senators, and representatives that would suit me just fine.

I do not feel fairly represented in this country. And while I don't want an UNQUALIFIED woman- I don't believe I ever said I wanted that, I am tired of what, you must admit, has been a monotonous parade of rather similar human beings (especially when you consider the diversity of this country) in our two highest offices. I don't believe it's all owing to 50% of the population "not wanting it enough." Nor would I say there is no one in the African American community who just didn't want it badly enough. While I couldn't support Jesse, because of his lack of experience and his rather odd personal style, there are black legislators I could support. I've often been impressed by Mfune, for example.
