I can see why you think about taxes with all the trading you do. <G>

I was not trying to do a precise calculation. To do that you would have to include the contract fees and license fees and the retroactive royalties to April 1 all of which are amortized over 20 quarters. Also, RAMBUS is not likely to pay taxes because it took a loss on the employee stock options.<whew>

Could Rambus avoid taxes by defering income against reinvestments or aquisitions? The street would still value the revenue stream created via all those licensing agreements only the company would defer the taxes by reinvesting the bottom line.
