Given the amount of new technology (some of which is probably not publicly documented) in P4 and 850, the only way VIA will be coming up a P4 chipset near term is if Intel hands it to them pretty much as a complete design. If VIA is confident they will have such a chipset, then my guess is that it is because Intel designed it and gave to VIA to get around the Rambus contract.

If this is the case, I doubt any restraining orders will be coming from Intel.
