The idea that eskimo or northern aleution/etc natives have a vastly larger vocabulary for snow-related terms than the rest of us is an urban legend, plain and simple.

Whether the number claimed is 50, 100, 200, or 500 as i've heard, the fact remains that it is an urban legend.

The fact that you so strongly state it ISNT an urban legend, just goes to show why urban legends continue to exist. :)
