Indeed, robwin <g> ... 'loosing money' ...

... is one of my top favorites, as well as 'noone.' On a few boards I've frequented on Yahoo! for going on three years now, we've been all over that one.

Like, let's put a bunch of cash in a plastic bag -- or a balloon, even better -- fill it full of air/helium, whatever, and POP IT -- would that be a situation in which one would literally be 'loosing' money? Cash flying all over the room? Letting money loose? Compelling money through some action to escape from some sort of artificial confines? Perhaps. LOL.

One guy there claimed that 'loose' can actually be acceptably used as a verb in this sense, for example:

"The farmer loosed his cattle from the corral."

I don't know about this ... sounds archaic at best to me ... LOL.

Sorry if I've mentioned 'noone' before ... always reminds me of 1960s British rock 'n roll bands ... because Peter Noone is Herman of Herman's Hermits. Amazing the images words instantly conjure up, isn't it?

Recently saw a reference in a post from a school teacher to the 'principle' ... context was the top authority figure of an educational facility ... hmmmmm ... made me wonder about the qualifications of teachers to teach ... if they all have such stellar language skills as this one ...
