Ted Re..BTW how come you didn't agree with me when I pointed out the same thing that Quasar did....the greater latitude/leeway that Intel has in the markets? <g> Did it sound better from Quasar?

Ted, <Does that mean that Intel has sufficient RDRAM to meet the higher than expected ramp-up of the P4?>

I dunno. Maybe Sony's inability to supply the PS2 in meaningful volumes is freeing up RDRAM for use in Pentium 4 systems. Maybe Intel is counting on Via to get that P4 chipset out very early.

Most likely, RDRAM supplies have been building up for quite some time due to low demand. As evidence, I point to the low spot prices of RIMMs on Pricewatch.com. Remember when RDRAM used to cost an arm and a leg? Now it's just costs you a finger. ;-)

<how come you didn't agree with me when I pointed out the same thing that Quasar did....the greater latitude/leeway that Intel has in the markets? <g> Did it sound better from Quasar?>

Good timing on Quasar's part, I suppose. ;-)
