Yeah it appears we do agree BV. Now...do you think China will get wired or just skip that and move straight to wireless? <G> How many others will do the same? And what is the average upgrade time for cell phones? Most the women I know want them smaller and upgrade every two years or less.

I heard today that Maytag is making soda machines that call in and report their stocking requirements and they rotate from juices to sodas depending on the time of day. They need chips and a data connection for that. Okay enough of my rambling for now.

JP Morgan on the Semis : Firm says at long last they are backing off from their universally bullish call on the semiconductor sector
and and semi cycle; cites weakness of the SOX down 46% from its March high and notes that they've been focused on supply and
that like in 1998 the issue this time around is demand which is weaker than expected-bringing the supply and demand curves
together sooner than expected; firm downgrades XLNX, STM, MXIM, LSI, LLTC, LSCC, KEM, ADI and IRF.

Hijacked from the KEM thread. Yes, tax loss selling is over - right? I'm not sure what the semi punduits are really looking at. Maybe the reduced growth rates of 15-20% are just not worth the forward PE's >60. Everyone gets a haircut - even if you don't need it.

ADI, however, seems to have all the cards lined up. Many products in the right areas - like ADSL - that are still into the high growth phase. Looking forward to good earnings and other positives.
