Maui_dude, the main message I got from the call was that Intel will not lose mkt. share to the competition, at any cost. This means introducing volume P4 and P3 at 1G+ faster than expected AND lowering prices to make sure Intel doesnt lose any business. Lower revenue projections could reflect lower ASPs. IMO, its the right strategic move, since Intel's business model works on the basis of owning a majority of mkt. share. As you pointed out, costs will be lower, so bottom-line numbers might not get hit. Of course, this is bad news for AMD, and I'll be looking for an opportunity to sell my remaining AMD shares in the near future. Hope this helps.

Joey

Maui, <why is Intel expecting only high-teen growth ?>

Barrett is forecasting 10% growth in Intel's core microprocessor business. That balances out Intel's higher-growth areas.
