Something happened between 6:15pm CT and 7pm CT. The Intel conference gave Globex a boost and it was looking like the Intel news might break the techs out of this, well, downturn. But, Globex turned decidedly down (now at -3700) during that time period. I haven' been able to find the reason for it but it was drastic and was based on just a few trades on Globex and now we are staying down there.

But heck, QCOM seems to go down when NAZ goes up and goes down when NAZ goes down. With all the news I have read over the past 4 weeks on qcom, this stock should have taken off. But, it hasn't and I suspect we are all in a bit of trouble now. Seems whenever a company has anything good to say, in this market, it goes down anyway. I expect a great cc tomorrow (not so great numbers for current quarter or even guidance with next quarter). But, the future looks great for qcom but nobody seems to care.

Futures indicating a normal day for the NAZ ie a down day of somehwere between 80 and 100 points down...if we're lucky.

Nice article in today's WSJ about how investors misinterpret futures data>
