Actually, I see inflation rampant in the Real Estate and building market. Somewhat oil related but mainly the result of a tax cut on sale of a primary residence. This is reverberating through the economy making it difficult for rate hikes to slow the economy. At best AG is finished for a while. At the worst he'll have to hike again.
Without this tax cut, I think AGs hikes would have been a lot more effective and also if they would have come quicker.
Unfortunately, the hikes have not slowed down the RE market that much yet and left other sectors reeling...or the fear has done that.
OTOH, if need be, AG can simply cut rates and you will be happy I guess.
As it looks now, a soft landing is still a possibility...
