Women might have been able to vote in the 20's but the societal repression of women lasted well into the 60's- a mere 30 years ago

So social repression lasted into the 60s. I was born in 1968. What responsibility do I have for this repression? If you can make a convincing argument that it still occurs then I can see supporting a strong campaign to end it. If however it ended in the 60s then I think people should just get on with life. In either case I think people should be treated as people, not singled out for special abuse or privileges based on the fact that they might be male or female, or black, white, asian ect.

>>Some men seem to be able to understand and some men don't. I've no idea why. Some people can empathize with minorities and some people can't- again I've no idea why.<<

i think it has to do with upbringing and social experiences. i am so anti grouping people i can't tell you. i am so unable to tell a good person from a bad person by visuals, i can't even tell you.

"there are simple solutions to every complex problem, and they are always wrong" comes to mind.

people are far to complex to put in a box and label it.

yes, it is obvious that past repressions impact long after they are ended.

having said that, try your hardest to individually beat the macro odds. keep the feet moving, always going forward and helping other believe in themselves and give them tools to improve their lives.

i believe selfishness is sin and we are all mired in it. especially those that don't think they are! ;-) this is a very big reson why i believe in god. he says we can't beat sin and we can't. he says the results are bad and they are.

just ask the children of iraq or the sex slaves in eastern europe.

i believe god when god says he (not male or female, but i don't have a better term) is the only entity that can set us straight.

he will. man, he's patient, though.
