Tumbleweed, when I owned NSM, I thought that Foveon was a bunch of noise. Foveon is one of many NSM investments (such as Cyrix CPUs) that sound great on paper but don't work as well in practice. I left that thread in anguish .. telling everyone to put in their stop losses and to look deeply into NSM's accounting practices. In the year since, NSM's share price has fallen by half.

If Foveon could actually do what it claims, in volume, they would own 100% of the digicam market. And, they would have the only solidstate camera whose resolution exceeds that of film. What I haven't seen is an announcement like "Foveon get $10B contract from U.S. government" .. the logical buyer of a pricey camera with extraordinary resolution. The CIA alone would make such a supplier rich.

Only time will tell if the claimed technology is real ... or just vaporware. Me ... I stopped holding my breath, sold out of NSM and made a tidy sum in SNDK.
