George G.,
How does AOL get IP off their disks to send over SONET or WDM? Isn't there a piece missing here?

A few posts back I mentioned June 99 as the month on Gilder that reminded me of J.Fieb's post, that touched on viruses, it was actually the whole second half of the month of April 1999. Fibre Channel was still very new to most people back then and it is interesting to read the comments from people who never heard of it. I believe Ancor was trading under $10 and Brocade was just getting ready to IPO in May. First day of trading, Brocade could have been bought in the $30's and now it is the equivalent of $932
