Jim you are correct. However, what Otellini actually said was that Intel will be introducing RDRAM chipsetS (not chipset)in 2002 and RDRAM is the best solution for the PERFORMANCE and MAINSTREAM segments. That's a pretty big chunk of the market.

However, investors in Rambus should pretty much know by now that Rambus will receive royalties on RDRAM, DDR and SDRAM across the board.

Also, I can't wait until Intel signs with Rambus. From all the information out there it appears that INTC can't produce a DDR chipset until 2003 without breaking their Rambus contract. Rambus certainly isn't going to let them have this for free.
