I think it is tad bit closer than that. Polls are so damn screwy! I tend to think that the Bush lead is more like 3 pts, as opposed to your 4-5 pts. Then, factor in possible Nader defections of 1-2 points, and you get an extremely close election. Finally, factor in the real possibility of Bush killing in his state's wins (TX/South) and Gore narrowly winning key states-FL/IL/Mich/PA/Wash, and Gore can win the college but lose the popular. Still, W is in drivers seat.
