flapjack, I am for a total overhaul of the tax code. Throw the present one out and go to a flat tax or, better still, a consumption tax. One that is studied by a bipartisan commission who are committed to fairness and equity for all Americans. Our present system is unfair and convoluted beyond reason. I think most Americans have no problem paying taxes that are reasonable and fair. They do have a problem with confiscatory taxation. Then the problem is further exacerbated because government utilization of money is extremely inefficient and wasteful. It needs to be changed and improved.
