Clickthebutton.com and InfoSpace Collaborate to Provide a Highly Sophisticated Comparison Shopping Experience for Consumers
NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--November 2, 2000--Clickthebutton.com, Inc., a maker of price comparison services and technology, today announced the extension of its Perpetual Data(TM) database to InfoSpace, a leading global provider of cross-platform merchant and consumer infrastructure services on wireless, broadband and narrowband platforms. InfoSpace will now syndicate the Perpetual Data database across its Web sites and wireless carrier distribution network. Clickthebutton's Perpetual Data database is built using complex workflow tools, combined with extensive human effort. It matches every product in a given online store to product pages of other online stores, where identical items are available for sale. When it is 100-percent certain the products match, they are automatically placed in Clickthebutton's database. In all other cases, products are reviewed individually by a human operator, who "exactly matches" the product to others in the database. In development for 18 months, the database contains millions of products available for sale on the Web, including books, movies, music, hardware, software, consumer electronics, toys, video games, pet supplies, sporting goods and health and beauty products. "We've known for a long time that there is a huge opportunity in providing Perpetual Data to companies that are creating the next generation of commerce," said Cheyenne Ehrlich, chairman and CEO of Clickthebutton. "No one is more leading edge in this regard than InfoSpace."
