Agreed. Especially about the varied benchmarks. I would like to see him vary his benchmarks based on what people do with their computers, not based on what Intel tells him to test.

It would seem to me that if a class of benchmarks or an individual benchmark was required to be reported as a condition from the manufacturer to get an early system for evaluation, then this should be stated unambiguously in the review. Now of course, this kind of disclosure would not be allowed by the agreement either. But, if such a statement were included, it would at least limit any bias to that of the reviewer and remove (or at least acknowledge) any considerable bias the manufacturer could impose by requiring specific favorable benchmarks in the first place. I must say I am very dubious about about all this benchmarking stuff. While I believe I can sift thru enough of the benchmarking information to come to an unbiased conclusion, I hardly think the average consumer would even waste the time.
