Maybe they meant MPEG 1 level 3 aka MP3?
If this is true it would have to be SSE optimized I would think as I didn't think the P4 FPU was that strong...likely an SSE optimized encoder. Quite misleading if true.

Did TOrtellini say this? If so it explains it..
