I do not approve of the Teamsters using their dues money in support of a candidate either. Now, if the union wants to use non- dues generated income, that is different. The problem is the nature of dues, which is not fee for service, but a membership contribution. It does not become the union's money to use as it pleases. In professional associations, such as the one my wife works for, it is illegal to support a candidate, although one can support issues relevant to the interests of the members......
