I have sold off Cisco in small chunks over the years as it became a bigger portion of my portfolio. The last time was early last year when I sold some to buy a waterfront home up in the San Juan islands in Washington state and to buy a motorglider that I had built in Germany. The goal was to get some dream toys and a place that the family would like to go to. Fortunately we have no debt and a chunk of cash to live on for a number of years.

I'll probably sell some more Cisco next year when it reaches my price target. I've been positioning in some other techs and biotechs and expect to continue holding Cisco for at least the next 5 years depending on how the company performs.

This stock guaranteed my retirement many times over so I don't have to make a killing here. I'm still letting the profits roll because they are executing so well.

Until the long term story changes I will remain long.

As always the CC's forward guidance is critical to determining the long position. I frankly don't see any problems yet to threaten that position.
