The German parliament said Wednesday it was investigating a television report that traces of the drug were found in toilets at the building, which houses the Bundestag lower chamber. "What is in this report is unbelievable," the parliamentary press service said in a statement. "Bundestag authorities are checking whether the report is true." "Very many people visit the Reichstag daily. It cannot be ascertained whether there are also drug users among them." The statement also pointed out that the bathrooms in question were cleaned once and sometimes twice a day. The Sat1 channel reported Tuesday that it had sent staff around the restrooms of the Reichstag armed with swabs to take samples. Subsequent expert analysis of 22 out of 28 toilets found traces of cocaine, the station said. German media have devoted much attention to the issue of cocaine use after designated national soccer coach Christoph Daum failed a drugs test and was placed under criminal investigation for cocaine possession.
