1) Didn't AMD help someone optimize Quake 2 (and its associated graphics drivers) for 3DNow back in 1998?

2) Wouldn't AMD help someone optimize their MP3 code for x86-64 in 2001?

3) Do you forsee anything coming in the future which can enhance performance without requiring ISA extensions (or a new ISA altogether)? (Perhaps dual-core, but even that requires apps which can divide out tasks into threads, which is great for servers and workstations, but not necessarily for the desktop.)

4) Why is Jimmy Mac being so cynical over the SSE2-optimized applications?
