Ross Perot Endorses Bush for Presidency Thursday Nov 2, 2000 9:26 PM ET Ross Perot Endorses Bush for Presidency WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Reform Party founder Ross Perot on Thursday endorsed Texas Gov. George W. Bush for the White House, saying ``he has done an outstanding job as governor'' and demonstrated the ability to lead the nation. Perot urged every American of voting age -- but especially the 29 million people who voted for the Reform Party candidate in the 1992 and 1996 presidential elections -- to vote on Nov. 7. ``Here's a man who I have never heard anybody criticize once for improper conduct as governor, for the improper taking of funds, for payoffs, for improprieties in the governor's mansion,'' Perot said. ``He has done an outstanding job as governor and was reelected, and rarely is the same governor reelected in Texas,'' Perot said. ``I think he is clearly the better of the two men.'' Perot stressed the importance of integrity and said Bush ''has demonstrated the ability to be a person who knows how to administer and govern and have the responsibility at the state.'' He said he decided to endorse one of the two mainstream party candidates because ``in the real world'' it would be one of them that won, not the Reform Party nominee, Pat Buchanan.

Ross Perot transcript in....the Ross Perot endorsement of G W Bush, also includes a transcript of GW's interview re: the DUI, which was breaking at the same time, and shown during this interview. I emailed myself copies of the entire transcript. Things have a way of disappearing from sites. Perot was really quite forceful in his presentation. He didn't let King get away with much at all, as you will see when you read the transcript! cnn.com
