<<Carter endorses Gore, calls him 'man of character'">>

I guess he is saying that Gore will do for America what Carter did for America.

<<Here's the kiss of death:
"Carter endorses Gore, calls him 'man of character'">>

Although I was only 10 or 11 at the time, I still remember Carter going on TV after the failed hostage rescue attempt in Iran and taking responsibility for the failure. Even though Carter's presidency was largely a failure, I still admire Carter for his "buck stops here" attitude and consider him to be a man of honor. I don't, however, see how Carter can call Gore a man of character given Gore's flip-flops on issues, demanding TV time to support the Gulf War, visiting the Budist temple, etc. This endorsement is truly a head scratcher for me.

Steve

My guess is that the Democratic Party had to twist his arm some for his endorsement, otherwise he would have issued it much earlier. Only 5 days before the election one of the most Prominent Democrats in the country endorses him. The Democrats should hide it rather than parade it. It's laughable.
