Oh, how about the death penalty for first time offenders. Seems you can change your spots if it's the enemy you're after. Check the Texas laws from 1976.

First, it was a DUI, not a DWI.
Second, it was in 1976. Times were alot different back then. On many occasions, police would just make the driver pull over and sleep it off.

His license was suspended for two years. In those days it wasn't uncommon to be let go if you were almost home. Bush was less than a mile from home, the cops were pretty tough.

HOHOHO. 1st offense is a misdemeanor in the entire USA. Anyways, I think Bush's first act as President of the United States of America will be to bust up CNN/AOL deal, free Microsoft and allow them to buy WorldCom and NBC, out Andy Rooney and Regis Philbin and Dan Rather, thereby crippling the liberal big media, arrest Al Gore, Bill Clinton, and Janet Reno for treason, and Thank God for his blessings.
