Lewinsky-Dan - Re: 'Gee...how many 0.13 micron fabs will AMD have to go up against Intel?
1 for CPUs next year when Intel has none - '

Another blow hard answer !!

Well - YOU ARE WRONG -- AGAIN !!!

Intel already has a dedicated 0.13 micron/Copper fab - and as they indicated yesterday, a functional 0.13 micron version of the Pentium III - which may have a few improvements to the older Coppermine core.

How's that AMD 760 chip set doing, Monica?

AMD figured out what is wrong with it yet?

Paul

Re: "1 for CPUs next year when Intel has none - which is enough to supply about a third of the market. How many of Intel's 8 will exist and how many will be producing mostly .13 or better before 2004 when AMD has 2 additional .13 FABs?"

Intel will be producing .13u material next year, will have at least 8 .13u (or smaller) fabs by 2004, most larger than AMD's, several at 12 inches and by your count AMD will have 3. Did I miss something? AMD has 2 .18u fabs now that produce surprisingly low volume for their size. When did they announce a new fab?
