I did not approve of the dating policy, nor of some of the founder's opinions, but they were largely dead issues by the time McCain raised them. No current dignitary at the university publicizes anti- Catholic sentiment, for example, and the dating rule was not truly enforced. When I looked at the web site, it turned out that they explicitly admitted inter- racial couples, as long as they were married. It was so easy to eliminate the policy because it had become moribund. But the final thing was this: it turned out that McCain was a terrible hypocrite for having tried to get a speaking engagement at the university himself. No straight shooter he........
