Hi justone,

I'd think that the T Boulder experiment is simply an attempt to placate Kennard and Boulder itself. I recall a few years ago when the City of Boulder stripped Viacom of its operating license in the city because of the cableco's high handed approach to service provision and cost. It's a city with attitude that gets special respect....

"Why is ATT spending 20 million for an open access trial?"

justone- That's an easy one. ATT does not want to divest any of it's cable TV properties. The ownership cap rules need to be modified. So T will most likely use the open access issue as a bargaining chip. T has already filed suit to remove the ownership cap rule. IMO, they should be lifted. With so much competition today, the rule is not needed anymore. -MikeM(From Florida)
