You're right, but he was still in the White House until Jan 1953 so I think it's OK to refer to him as a president of the 2nd half of the 20th century. Anyway, he was one of the greatest presidents this country has EVER had.

I don't think George W.'s DUI will hurt him - people don't care, just as they didn't care that Clinton had an extra-marital affair. Like George W., Clinton lied about his affair(s) to save embarrassment and protect his daughter. The difference is that when confronted with it by the press, he looked the American people in the eye and denied it. Of course, George W. couldn't even try to do that since it's in the police records, while Clinton did not know that Monica saved the "evidence". The only thing that will hurt George W. regarding the DUI is if it is found that he lied about it under oath or in some instance where the public (and presumably his daughter) would not find out.

Something that could be damaging to George W., however, is allegations that he never was in Alabama serving as he said he was. Don't know if that is true, but if it is, that would not play very well with the public.
