Gore's presciption plan is to force those large majority of seniors to drop their existing plans. You're fooling yourself if you think the kids will play nice together. It's also debatable whether it would be to the benefit of the public for the politicians to agree and cooperate if it results in more government programs.

After the first debate GW let out a heavy fat-cheeked breath of relief...if he thought that was tough, what does he think Mideast negotiations, budget talks and sudden foreign and domestic crises are going to be? Easier?

I think a GW presidency will make the Carter administration look like a think tank.
