Yes, my point is simply that increase in internet usage does not always equal more money made by companies involved in the internet. Agreed, like I said it is discontinuous. Some companies will benefit tremendously and others will fail. The technology to handle this huge explosion will solve and create problems at the same time. Take for instance an all optical switch that reduces the cost of deployment and maintenance on a long haul FO line by 70% (Corvis makes such a switch). This is great news for them and great news for those newer companies deploying this technology but its absolutely terrible news for a company that is still paying the debt on previous deployments of older less efficient technologies.
