He did too duck. He hasn't called a press conference, until forced to do so. And he's hiding behind his children as a reason for not informing the American public. And his children are 18 years old, living in the household of a highly political family. Bush is lying when he said he didn't want to tell the public because he didn't want to tell his kids. His children could have dealt with it. Think of the kinds of things children from poor-folk families have to sustain. Think of what Bush's children watch on television.

Sorry JLA, 1986 ain't 'ancient' history to me. GW covered up a very serious issue - his apparent problem with alcohol as I said is a vastly bigger concern to me than the DUI charge which itself is serious as well. Throw in the fact he concealed it and you have a genuine mess.

As I said to someone else, I hope private citizen GW is still indeed sober. But as far as his Presidential campaign goes, his key message that his entire campaign has been built upon -- that he is of superior honor and integrity to Gore (because Gore worked with a philanderer of 8 years) -- simply no longer holds water. The man behind the curtain is being exposed.
