I am in the old school of buy and hold. Avoid paying taxes and try to hold and lower the cost of purchase hopefully by stock splits. My favorite pastime is to buy in near or actually in bankruptcy and change the fortunes of the company by business consulting. So, MAT becomes interesting.

Currently, as we discussed, the new management seems to have a handle on the business; and the specialist has some confidence in the company; I see an opportunity here.

I think I can recommend this stock to be held for a stock split some time down the line, when new products are developed by evolution(not by whimsical planning such as their electronic toys in the past; when they didn't have strong R&D commitment in electronics).
