<Not starving as a standard of care?> This is the problem... politicians, especially dems won't decide what it should be. I believe that people in need should be on welfare, whatever that need is. Tell me what the cheapest monthly price is for a private pay resident. (Could you pay it for your parent?> So nursing homes paid for by the government is now an entitlement?? Look, the problem is neither side will talk about what the basic safety net should be... you can't get a democrat in congress to make a decision as to when the little old lady you sight should no longer get the heart transplant... or kidney, or the latest cancer therapy... that's politics... dems will be no better than republicans, AND they'll probably create another agency to talk about it. YOU may not want to stand up and think about when about when Mom has had enough life support, or how to pay for her nursing home but let me clue you in... that's what life is all about.. do you really want the government filling that function? Jeez we're going to have a hell of a payroll. DAK
