No, I was detained. Never charged. Hence never arrested. I was falsely accused, but not falsely arrested. Check my record if you like. Unlike some, I'm not ashamed of it, but then I didn't do it.

I think legally "arrested" does not mean that you have to be put behind bars. You could technically be "arrested" and "released" on the spot.
Now we have some lawyers or law enforcement officials on this board who could shed some light on this.
