I don't think Gore needs a Reno clone to take the case on out. It's academic with two, maybe three Gore SC appointments his first year while the case is in the Appeals court.

Chief Justice Rehnquist was born on Oct. 1, 1924
nominated to the U.S. Supreme Court by President
Nixon in 1971

Justice Stevens was born on April 20, 1920
President Ford nominated him to the U.S. Supreme Court on Dec. 1, 1975

And maybe:

Justice O'Connor, the first woman to serve on the U.S. Supreme Court, was born on March 26, 1930
President Reagan nominated O'Connor to the U.S. Supreme
Court on July 7, 1981

Why Bill Gates Loves Sen. Slade Gorton

In a close race in Washington state, Slade Gorton, the aging GOP
incumbent known as the senator for Microsoft, is facing off
against Maria Cantwell, the glamorous young high-tech challenger
from RealNetworks. At a Gorton fundraiser Wednesday night, Bill
Gates made clear which candidate he's backing, and in the past
week of campaigning, Gorton has made it plainer than ever why
he has Gates' support: He will use his influence to persuade
Texas Gov. George W. Bush, assuming the Republican is elected
president, to appoint an attorney general opposed to the breakup
of Microsoft.
