Dear Enam: Well, since I personally have never been to Business School (undergrad degree only for me) I couldnt comment personally. I see you went to a good one yourself according to your profile. Anyhow, my point is I sincerely doubt Bush is DUMB. Personally, I think he was a bit of a play boy in his younger years. He certainly wasnt what we used to call a bookworm and they now call a nerd. But I suspect he has a high degree of native intelligence, otherwise he would have been so out of his league in Harvard he would have been uncomfortable. Whats important to me is a Leader who has Judgement, but is able to keep an open mind, build consensus, and most importantly to be able to hire the VERY BEST support team without his EGO getting in the way. I really believe BUSH matches that criteria. From everything I have seen and read it appears to me that Gore was NEVER POPULAR in the Senate. That indicates to me that most likely he has an Ego which causes him to try and take credit for everything. No one of any ability wants to work with a person like that. So far in the past couple of years his announcements (exaggerations) would seem to indicate I am right.
Couple of thoughts from an older person for those of you who werent old enough to know:
1. Eisenhower used to be criticized as spending too much time on the golf course. Yet, he turned out to be a pretty decent President. I think that was because he brought in some of the brightest people he could find.
2. Reagan, prior to his election was also called a dummy and an Actor. Hmmm, now he is recognized as one of our GREAT PRESIDENTS. Again, I think most would agree he had a great personality, and attracted some very decent support personnel.
Contrast the above to Clinton. Most would agree Clinton SUPPOSEDLY was among our most intellect Presidents. YET, he has hired basically a bunch of yes people not too impressive in their own right (except for the prev. Treas. Sec) and I think any fair thinking person would agree that he has morally bankrupted the office. I really doubt he will go down in history as one of the greats or even good Presidents. The best thing I can say about him is he had the good sense to not screw up the economy which I believe was headed for improvement anyhow. JDN
