Hi Cheryl,

I believe that candidates operate by the polls. After all, the big prize is getting elected not being president. Each candidate took a stand based on what they think will get them elected. I think that they came to these conclusions based on polling.

Upon being elected, they will try to inforce their agenda (i.e., Hillarycare) but if the polls say that they think that the idea/program is out of whack, it will fail and the issue/agenda will be dropped or delayed for another time.

To me, politicians by nature must get the most votes and to guage what is going on they must listen to the polls. I think this is the way it works. Is it good or bad, I do not know but it has seemed to work out pretty well given the United States track record.

So, in my final analysis, maybe it really does not matter who is elected president if they are pollsters at heart. I think we vote for the candidate that we like more and are attracted to. Is not that the reason why President Clinton is so likeable. He has all the characteristics of
