If by the machine, you mean the establishment and the media, I think you are flat out wrong. The media barely tolerates Day because it knows it can't be too sycophantic towards the Liberals. The media is already becoming self-conscious of its left-wing bias and is trying to be (or appear) objective. Day is also a new and photogenic face, and therefor makes for good news footage. It is absurd, however, to suggest that the media, especially the CBC, wants you to 'love' Day. The establishment is fairly well split when it comes to Day. Anyone that considers their government grants, subsidies or protections to be important will favour the Liberals. -g
